What is your ministry?
As the Congregational Life Development Officer for the Presbyterian Church in Ireland, I hold the lead responsibility for researching, developing, promoting, and facilitating three things across the life of the church: (1) The advancement of discipleship at congregational, presbytery, and denominational levels; (2) The advancement of leadership (including eldership) at congregational, presbytery, and denominational levels; and (3) To facilitate the advancement of pastoral life at congregational, presbytery, and denominational levels. Working in partnership with as many as 500+ congregations means that through speaking engagements, events, conferences, retreats, webinars, training sessions, and meetings, I serve approximately 1,500-2,000 people across the church annually. With the addition of resources, this number would then double.
When did you trust Christ?
I made my original decision to trust and follow Jesus at age 7. I attended church and read my Bible, but it wasn't until I was 18 that I had a deeply personal, transformative encounter with Jesus that led me to say "yes" to following him.
What do you hope to gain from participating?
I expect to gain a deeper understanding of the biblical & theological foundations of disciple-making, learn practices/ideas I can consider and apply in my church, connect with like-minded leaders, and grow in love for Jesus and his church.
