What is your ministry?

Korea World Mission Association (KWMA) is an organisation representing the missionary movement of the Korean church. I am in charge of the international cooperation of Korean missions with international partners as the cooperative secretary of KWMA. I help Pastor Yoo Ki-sung, the Chairman of the preparation committee for the 4th Lausanne World Congress. I am also the international secretary of ORT, a Global Chinese missionary leadership network.

When did you trust Christ?

I had the experience of meeting Jesus Christ and accepting Him as my personal Saviour. He is the Lord who forgave my sins, and my life's purpose is following Him.

What have been the defining moments of your Christian walk?

In my youth, the Lord came into my life and called me to His missionary work. Since I met the Lord, I have dedicated my life to missionary work serving the Chinese church. My life has been shaped by walking with the Lord and fulfilling His missions with His help.

What do you hope to gain from participating?

I intend to prepare for future partnerships between the Asian and European churches by forming relationships with European church leaders. Through attending the 2023 Forum, I learned the importance of training people through mentoring and how to do it. The mentoring method of ELF is being applied to the training of Chinese church missionaries in ORT. I want to learn more about mentoring skills and methodology.

What is your leadership role or what were your past leadership roles?

I am a Korean Methodist missionary. I was senior pastor at Huntington Church, a Southern Baptist church in the United States. I served as a professor at the China Evangelical Theological Seminary in Taiwan and Great Commissioning Theological Seminary in Beijing. I have served in the Mission China 2030 and the Lausanne Movement as the Deputy Representative for East Asia. I graduated with a PhD in intercultural studies from Asbury Seminary.

Why should someone invest in your ministry?

The Korean church is currently facing a crisis like the European church. Young people are leaving the church, and the number of believers is declining. Therefore, the Korean church is amid a crisis and needs a revitalisation process again. Through the church renewal network, I want to see and learn about the renewal movement of the European church.
