What is your ministry?
I am currently an elder and Bible teacher at Calvary Chapel Budapest. Among my leadership duties my main ministry is a teaching ministry: I teach the Monday night in-depth Bible study at our church on a weekly basis. I have been teaching the Bible verse by verse, book by book, for the past eight years. I am also a theology student at Covenant Theological Seminary.
When did you trust Christ?
I was an atheist. During my university years, one of my friends talked to me about Jesus. I was interested in Jesus and read the Bible, but I considered it foolishness. However, I was open to finding the truth and I so one day I said, “God if you exist I want to know you.” In those days my grandmother became ill and the doctors said she would most probably die after the operation. I was so depressed. My friend told me that I could ask God to heal my grandmother. I prayed to the God I did not believe in at that time. My grandmother fully recovered and the doctors did not understand. From that time on I started to read my Bible and very soon I recognized that the Bible was talking about me. I realized my sins. One day the whole picture became clear to me; it was like putting together a puzzle. I prayed and received Christ into my life.
What have been the defining moments of your Christian walk?
The most defining moment for me was at the start of my Christian walk when I realized that God existed and that He had revealed Himself in the Bible. He has been my rock since that time—leading me and using different people like my pastors, Christian friends, and my wife. God revealed himself in different life situations, like longing for my spouse, building our home, going through a disc hernia, etc.
What do you hope to gain from participating?
The Forum has helped me to learn more about theological issues. It has also helped me become a better preacher because of its focus on expository preaching. I am also grateful to connect with fellow ministers who work in the same kind of ministry.
What is your leadership role or what were your past leadership roles?
I was a youth leader in a reformed church for five years. I was a home fellowship leader in Calvary Chapel for seven years. I have been an elder in Calvary Chapel Budapest for 15 years. I have been a regular weekly Bible teacher in Calvary Chapel Budapest for eight years.
Why should someone invest in your ministry?
The main focus of my ministry here in Eastern Europe is twofold: preaching the Gospel so that God’s kingdom might grow and feeding God’s people with the Word of God so that they might grow up to maturity. Thank you to anyone who wants to invest in this ministry financially.
