What is your ministry?

I work for MoveIn. We mobilize the church to live among the unreached, urban poor. We are a tentmaking movement. We have been living and working in Latin America for five years. We move in and live in the neighborhood, becoming a part of it so that we can share the gospel in a relational way. As we live in the community, we respond to the reality in a way we can build together with the community. MoveIn is an incarnational ministry with a presence in more than 15 countries across the world. My wife and I live in a poor neighborhood in Mexico City and lead the MoveIn movement in Latin America.

What do you hope to gain from participating?

I want to have mentors who can walk with me in this process as we are developing the ministry. I want to learn from others and create a plan for the development of the organization. As part of the goals of the ministry this year, we want to focus on building a healthy leadership team in the region. My focus is to develop the administrative area, so I believe the Year-Round Mentoring program will help me create and execute a plan for that. As the staff is growing, we need to clarify areas of responsibility.

What is your leadership role or what were your past leadership roles?

I am the regional director for the MoveIn movement in Latin America. We have nine teams in six countries all living in poor neighborhoods. I lead a team of five staff spread throughout Latin America: two in Brazil and three in Mexico. My role is to give leadership to the movement and to build relationships with ministries and churches to work together for the Kingdom. We want to start new teams in new countries and equip the new leaders in each new country. I am also developing the administrative side of the ministry so we can facilitate work with the staff. A big part of my role is to fundraise for the movement.

Why should someone invest in your ministry?

As we grow as a ministry, we need to set up a good foundation for the road ahead. We are increasing the number of staff so that our administrative work can develop.
