Eduardo Gabalas
I am a preacher and lead a Bible study at our church. I primarily serve teenagers and young adults. I am the country's church mobilization coordinator for the Samaritan's Purse organization. Furthermore, I am also the regional manager of CBS Siauliai.
I became a Christian in 1991. At that time, Lithuania was having a great revival. I was a student, and one of my classmates invited me to church. So I decided to follow Christ after attending church with my friend.
That same year, I decided to study at a Bible School in Tartu, Estonia. After I graduated from Bible School, I served on a mission to Russia for five years. After the mission, I returned to Lithuania and worked in a rehabilitation center for drug addicts and alcoholics. After that, I graduated from the Lithuanian Bible Institute with a bachelor's degree in theology. I also got married, and we now have two children.
Attending the European Leadership Forum was so helpful for me because I was able to learn more about youth ministry. I was able to learn how to approach and interact with youth and how to answer their questions. I was able to meet and form friendships with other youth leaders. But the most essential thing is evangelical teaching. I want to return to continue growing as a preacher and strengthen friendships.
I have been serving teenagers and young people for eight years. I serve as a youth leader in the local church and have several home groups. I am also actively involved in youth camps and organize events for young people of all Lithuanian denominations throughout the country.
I think that young people are a vital part of our society. Therefore, they must receive the proper foundation of faith. Furthermore, because I serve young people and teach them God's Word, it is important that I also understand the Word of God correctly. Therefore, training will be beneficial for me and the youth I serve.
