What is your ministry?

I was a pastor for 25 years. My wife and I moved from my hometown to the south of Herzegovina to a small city called Čapljina and we started a church there. It was always on my heart to go to new cities where there are no churches. Then we led and helped plant a church in Trebinje, Grude, and later in Croatia in Ploče and Korčula. Now I am leading a Bible Institute where we are helping to teach new leaders. At this moment we have students from Croatia, Montenegro, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. I still oversee the churches where I was involved before. I am looking to be part of a church leadership team.

What do you hope to gain from participating?

I am hoping to help other leaders with being more team-focused. In my area, the leadership structure is the pastor on the top, and the elders are underneath the pastor mainly to confirm the pastor’s leadership. I would like to learn more about how to put together a team that really functions as a team.

What is your leadership role or what were your past leadership roles?

I am the director of the Evangelical Bible Institute in Mostar. We want to develop leaders by teaching them, equipping them, encouraging them, and helping them to connect with other leaders. I also oversee churches in my area. I visit churches on a regular basis in Čapljina, Ploče, and Korčula to give them advice and help them through difficult situations. I am developing my relationship with pastors and churches in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Šibenik, Croatia. The Baptist Church in Šibenik does not currently have a pastor and they have been asking me to preach.

Why should someone invest in your ministry?

I feel that most churches are stuck and burned out. I can see their situations, but I do not know how to help them without an invitation. For many pastors in my context mentoring is not a developed concept. I want to be better at mentoring and leading.
